Heinz Memorial Chapel is a non-sectarian chapel on the University of Pittsburgh campus, a gift to the university from H.J. Heinz and his children.
Access to the building starts at 11:15 AM. The Ceremony begins at 12:00 PM. Guests must be completely out of of the chapel by 1:15 PM in order to make way for the next wedding.
Please take some time before and after the ceremony to admire the many stained-glass windows inside the chapel as well as the wood, iron, and stonework. They depict religious figures, characters from myth, historic figures, artists, and more.
Weddings booked at Heinz Chapel include a small amount of reserved parking on the left hand side of South Bellefield Avenue (a one way street) between Forbes Avenue and Fifth Avenue. A uniformed Pittsburgh Police Officer will be present to supervise. Parking time is 11:15 AM to 1:15 PM. Wedding guests parked after that time will be towed - please don't leave your car here!
Underground parking is available below Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum, 4141 Fifth Avenue. It is a 0.4mi walk to the Chapel from S&S.
Guests staying at the Courtyard by Marriott Pittsburgh University Center or The Oaklander are within a block of the venue. Guests staying at Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh University Place are 0.6mi away.
There are two accessible parking spaces adjacent to the chapel on S. Bellefield Avenue. You must have the designated plate or hang tag to park in the spaces. A level, paved sidewalk leads from the two accessible parking spaces to an automatic door on the north side of the chapel (facing Fifth Avenue). An elevator provides access to the chapel and an accessible restroom on the lower level.
Assistive Listening System is available to amplify the Chapel's audio sound system. Devices include portable receiver and earphones (you can also use your own earphones.) The Chapel also has Integrated Neck Loops for individuals with telecoil-equipped hearing aids and cochlear implants.
